On September 17th at the Golden Score Awards, Oscar-nominated and Emmy Award-winning Composer John Debney will be honoured by the American Society of Music Arrangers & Composers, along with Composer and Arranger, Conrad Pope.

Excitingly, Debney will be presented the award by a hero of his and legendary composer and songwriter himself; Richard M. Sherman, known for his iconic work on ‘Mary Poppins,’ ‘The Jungle Book,’ ‘Winnie the Pooh’ and ‘Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.’ And even more exciting is the fact that Debney will be Scoring the new 2016 live-action adaptation of ‘The Jungle Book,’ collaborating with Sherman also.

Debney has been described by the President of the American Society of Music Arrangers & Composers, as “an agile jack-of-all-genres, composing for comedies, sci-fi action, horror, and romance films with the same confidence and panache.” And you can clearly see that with a small example of his work, such as ‘Iron Man 2,’ ‘Liar Liar,’ ‘Sin City,’ ‘Spy Kids,’ ‘Predators,’ ‘The Princess Diaries,’ ‘The Scorpion King,’ ‘Bruce Almighty,’ ‘Elf,’ and of course his Oscar Nominated Score for ‘The Passion of the Christ.’ So it is fitting that he is receiving such an honour by his fellow professionals.
