On October 2nd, Sony Classical and Madison Gate Records will release Academy Award Nominee Alan Silvestri’s Score for Robert Zemecki’s ‘The Walk,’ before the films release in cinemas on October 9th.

THE WALK – Official Trailer [HD] – Oct 2015

The film tells the true story of Philippe Petit (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) who, with his real-life mentor Papa Rudy (Ben Kingsley), is aided by an unlikely band of international recruits, who overcome long odds, betrayals, dissension and countless close calls to conceive and execute their mad plan, which the film details as; Twelve people have walked on the moon. Only one has ever, or will ever, walk in the immense void between the World Trade Center towers. The film uses cutting edge technology to tell the emotional, character-driven story, with innovative photo-realistic techniques and IMAX® 3D wizardry. It is a chance for moviegoers to viscerally experience the feeling of reaching the clouds, with such a long way down.

This will see the 15th collaboration between the Composer/Director duo of Silvestri and Zemeckis. They have collaborated on some of the most successful and highly praised films of all-time; including the ‘Back to the Future Trilogy,’ ‘Cast Away,’ and ‘Forrest Gump.’

Silvestri speaks about their incredible and enduring partnership as it continues with ‘The Walk’; “Only Robert Zemeckis could find a way to allow us all to stand alongside Philippe Petit as he faced unspeakable fear and doubt while daring to accomplish the impossible.”
