All of us are big fans of the Krakow Film Music Festival. The unique and lovely get-together of the greatest film, game and TV series composers as well as musicians and lovers of good music in general, will take place the entire last week of May this year (24.05.2016 – 30.05.2016) in Polands culture capital.
Now the festival’s International FMF Young Talent Award 2016 competition kicked off and a jury including BAFTA nominated composer Harry Gregson-Williams awaits your entries. Here’s what it is all about:
For the fourth time, the most talented film composers of the young generation will face off in the international competition for the FMF Young Talent Award statuette. Join the contest, the effects of which will be judged by an international jury, deliberating under the leadership of Professor Daniel Carlin, Director of the Scoring for Motion Pictures and Television Program at the University of Southern California. The winning suite will be performed at the International Film Music: Animations Gala on May 28th at the TAURON Arena Kraków. Fame, prestige, recognition in the film industry and perhaps even an international career awaits the winner! There is a lot to fight for, so roll up those sleeves and get to work!
But not only will the winning piece be performed at this year’s International Film Music: Animations Gala but there’s much more for everyone who’s among the Top 20 entries: “Workshops, a recording session, and discussion panels led by the best industry specialists from respected universities, film studios and international composers’ agencies and organisations.” The detailed programme will be announced soon.
