European Talent Competition: SoundTrack

In August 2016, Germany’s biggest expert conference on music and sound in visual media will take place for the thirteenth time. Apart from talks, discussions, workshops and networking events for audio professionals, several competitions and award shows will again be held during this year’s Soundtrack_Cologne. Submissions for the EUROPEAN TALENT COMPETITION and SEE THE SOUND are now open.

The EUROPEAN TALENT COMPETITION can be entered by young European composers and sounddesigners by June 17th, 2016. Two attractive prizes will be awarded during SoundTrack_Cologne: the WDR FILMSCORE AWARD, which provides the winner with the opportunity of having their score recorded by a professional orchestra, and the SOUNDDESIGN award, which includes a 5.1 cinematic mixing session in a prestigious German sound mixing studio. On August 27th, during SoundTrack_Cologne, twelve finalists will present their work to the jury and audience. To find out more, visit the EUROPEAN TALENT COMPETITION‘s web page.

Another call for applications on the SoundTrack_Cologne website is aimed at filmmakers. Submissions for SEE THE SOUND must be sent by May 20th, 2016. Films of any length and from any country are accepted, provided that they focus on sound or music and did not come out before 2015. The winner will be awarded 2500 Euro.
