We are back with our monthly Trailer Music Placements articles!
First off, we would like to present you our favourite trailers from last month including five trailers that premiered at this year’s E3 but also showcasing our favourite film trailers. Let’s take a look at what June has brought us!
‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Ultimate Edition Trailer’ Trailer Music feat. Thomas Bergersen’s “None Shall Live”
After the theatrical release now’s the time for the ultimate director’s cut of Batman v Superman which includes over thirty minutes of additional footage. Will this fix some of the problems the original cut had? Hopefully so! The track None Shall Live used in the trailer is available on Two Steps From Hell‘s public release BATTLECRY.
‘Injustice 2’ Trailer Music feat. Cody Still
The sequel of the critically acclaimed Injustice: Gods Among Us fighting game. Scheduled for the release next year. Cody Still‘s End of Humanity is from audiomachine‘s industry release PROTOTYPE.
‘Battlefield 1’ Trailer Music feat. Wiz Khalifa
Battlefield 1 quickly made it to the list of one of the most anticipated games of the year. The reveal trailer for the game is currently the most liked trailer in YouTube history and so it would seem like going back in time with the franchise has been a good decision so far for the DICE and EA. The game is scheduled to be released worldwide on October 21, 2016. The full remix of Wiz Khalifa’s No Limit by Sencit Music is available on SoundCloud. Sound Design, music edit and mix were done by Source Sound Inc.
‘The Shallows’ Trailer Music feat. Alex Clare
It’s no big surprise that The Shallows is compared to the the impact Sharks had 40 years ago. In the official ‘The Beginning’ trailer, the voice over from 1950s educational video “Developing Self Reliance” voice over blends brilliantly with Alex Clare’s “Relax My Beloved“.
‘American Pastoral’ Trailer Music feat. Jasmine Thombson/Tears For Fears
In the official trailer for Ewan McGregor’s directorial debut American Pastoral, the disturbing, very effective usage of Jasmine Thompson’s cover of Mad World (originally by Tears For Fears) clearly stands out in times of so many trailers featuring heavy sound design.
‘A Street Cat Named Bob’ Trailer Music feat. Charlie Fink and Luke Treadaway
In the wonderfully uplifting trailer to Roger Spottiswoode’s ‘A Street Cat Named Bob’ you can hear trailer versions ofDon’t Give Up as well as Second Time Around, written by Noah and the Whale’s Charlie Fink and sung by main actor Luke Treadaway. Both tracks appear on the official soundtrack.
‘Titanfall 2’ Trailer Music feat. Mark Petrie
Respawn Entertainment, the developer behind Titanfall, released two trailers for the sequel of the game. In the trailer below you can hear Mark Petrie’s Vicarious, another track from audiomachine’s industry release PROTOTYPE. In the Single Player Gameplay Trailer you can hear Zack Hemsey’s See What I’ve Become (published by Pusher Music).
‘Assassin’s Creed’ Trailer Music feat. Ninja Tracks and Tom Player
Hollywood has not stopped trying to turn video games into (good) movies. Many of us are still waiting for jaw-dropping adaptation. In December we will now get the chance to find out whether Assasin’s Creed was worth the wait or if the film will share the same fate as Disney’s Prince of Persia.
For now you can check out the behind-the-scenes sneak peek feat. Kaveh Cohen‘s & Michael Nielsen‘s Republic available on Ninja Track‘s public release ASCENSION. The second track, Desolation by Tom Player, is available on Position Music‘s public release RESONANCE THEORY.
‘Spider-Man’ Trailer Music feat. Twelve Titans Music
Insomniac Games released the trailer for an upcoming PS4 exclusive Spider-Man. The music used in the trailer is Twelve Titans Music‘s Celestial Motion.
‘Forza Horizon 3’ Trailer Music feat. Ursine Vulpine
During Microsoft’s E3, developer Playground Games has released a splendid trailer for Forza Horizon 3 featuring a cover of Wicked Game, originally performed by Chris Isaak, and now interpreted by Ursine Vulpine feat. Annaca. Scheduled to be released in September this year. You can listen to the cover on soundcloud.
‘Pete’s Dragon’ Trailer Music feat. Dylan Jones and Phillip Lober
The remake of Pete’s Dragon from 1977 directed by David Lowery and scheduled to be released on August 12, 2016 features Dylan Jones’ Gravity of Love and Phillip Lober’s Hero. The music is available on Really Slow Motion’s public release ELEVATION.
‘Swallows and Amazons’ Trailer Music feat. “Oh The Places” and “Gates Of Pearl”
The trailer for an upcoming British adventure film directed by Philippa Lowthorpe. “Oh The Places” was composed by Christopher Westlake for Sencit Music. “Gates Of Pearl” was written by Martyn Corbet and is available to listen on Really Slow Motion’s public release BATTLE ANGEL.
‘Denial’ Trailer Music feat. Ursine Vulpine’s “Parhelion”
Another great placement for Ursine Vulpine. His track “Parhelion” was used in Mick Jackson’s British-American drama Denial. Starring Rachel Weisz, Tom Wilkinson and Timothy Spall. The music has been licensed through Pusher Music.
‘Inferno’ Trailer Music feat. Ninja Tracks, Secession Studios and Paul Dinletir
Inferno is an upcoming mystery thriller film directed by Ron Howard and is based on 2013 novel of the same name by Dan Brown, starring Tom Hanks. This time again “Republic” by Ninja Tracks was used in the trailer alongside with “Seventh Trinity” by Secession Studios, which is also available to listen on their public released album FATE OF GODS.
Paul Dinletir’s Warland’s Fury was used for the international trailer of Inferno. The music is available to listen on audiomachine’s public release DECIMUS.
‘Mechanic: Resurrection’ Trailer Music feat. Martyn Corbet
The trailer to the sequel of The Mechanic starring Jason Statham, Tommy Lee Jones and Jessica Alba, features again music from audiomachine’s industry release PROTOTYPE.
